Jennifer Rock Skincare – How Supplements Work in Tandem with Skincare

Jennifer Rock Skincare

My philosophy is “inside, outside and on top”, referring to a 360 approach to skin health. This means taking care of your skin from the inside – with a balanced diet / supplements, outside – with topical skincare and on top – with SPF and/or make-up. Learn more about Jennifer Rock Skincare.

The first place to start is with your diet. Including foods rich in vitamin A, essential fatty acids, vitamin C, minerals such as zinc and other key skin nutrients is your cornerstone for healthy skin. To boost diet, the main supplements I recommend are vitamin A, vitamin C, probiotics, and essential fatty acids. The best sources that contain direct vitamin A are liver and eels – which many of us don’t eat regularly!

Supplementing vitamin C is vital to healthy skin and to synthesise collagen, the protein that keeps skin plump. I call essential fatty acid my internal moisturiser and find an omega supplement beneficial for all skin types, especially in the winter months to support the skin barrier and deal with issues such as dehydration. Nerd Network clients have reported definite improvements in the bounce and plumpness of their skin when they take omega supplements versus when they don’t.

My Skingredients skincare range is inspired by internal skin nutrition, with nutrients such as probiotics, prebiotics, vitamin A, vitamin C, vitamin E, protein and anti-inflammatory ingredients. Skingredients is like a topical balanced dinner plate for your skin, mirroring the key vitamins and minerals you eat daily.
